The Russian song in the hop hop hop dance videos is "Её парень" by Shluzov. The title means "Her Boyfriend": её is "her" and парень is "boyfriend" (or just "guy"), and it sounds roughly like ye-YO PAR-en. On TikTok it plays as a sped-up clip, so most people find it by searching "her boyfriend russian song" or "hop hop hop russian song".
Where the song and the dance came from
The sound came first and the dance followed. These are the dates we could check on TikTok; view counts are rounded and keep moving:
| Date (2026) | What happened |
|---|---|
| September 24 | A sped-up edit of Shluzov's "Её парень" goes up as a TikTok sound |
| October 18 | @gabilagaba posts the duo dance with a twin ("MY TRRENDD W TWIN"), roughly 3.6M views. That's why some call it the gabi trend |
| October 24 | @nirami1 and Cole film the hallway version, roughly 1.4M views. This is the one most people copy |
| October 25 | @pouzato7 posts an AI version with two Russian folk heroes, roughly 2.6M views |
| October 29–30 | More than 100,000 videos use the sound; #hophophop passes 100M views |
On Google Trends, searches for "shluzov" kept climbing through the last ten days of October, so the song is still on its way up.
What happens in the hop hop hop video
The phone stays still in a narrow hallway. One person stands right up close and points back at the other, who is small and far away, hopping on the beat. A flat hand pats the air above the far one's head, and forced perspective makes it look like they get squashed into a crouch. Then a hard cut on the beat swaps the two, and it happens again:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–4.3s | Person 1 up front waves, points back and pats down. Person 2 hops far behind and squats under the hand |
| 4.3s | Hard cut on the beat |
| 4.3–8s | Places swap. Person 2 pats down, person 1 hops and sinks into a deep squat |
Hop hop hop dance examples
The first one is @pouzato7's AI version that helped the trend spread (not made by us). The other two came out of our generator: two friends, and one photo playing both parts.
How to make your own
Open our hop hop hop dance AI video generator and upload your photo, plus a friend's if you want a duo; leave the friend slot empty and you play both parts. Pick Lite (a 4-second preview, 14 credits), Standard (the full 8 seconds at 480p, 38 credits) or HD (8 seconds at 720p, 80 credits). The video comes back in 9:16 with the trend sound, so the pats and the cut land on the beat.
