Two Frames In, One Smooth Clip Out

A butterfly landing on lips, a bedroom turning into a nightclub, a mage calling up a phoenix. Each transition starts on one image and lands on the other, with both frames shown in the corners.

What Is Start & End Frame to Video?

Start & end frame to video, also called first & last frame to video or keyframe video, turns two still images into one moving clip.

Start frameStart frame
AI generates every frame in between 2
End frameEnd frame
You uploadAI generates every frame in betweenYou upload

You upload a start frame, the image the video opens on, and an end frame, the image it lands on. The AI model then generates every in-between frame, so the move from the first frame to the last frame plays as one smooth, continuous transition instead of a hard cut.

Because both keyframes are fixed, you decide exactly how the clip begins and ends. Regular image to video only locks the first frame and lets the model guess the ending. A start and end frame video generator is the better pick for before and after reveals, product reveals, scene morphs and transitions between two shots.

Why Use a Start and End Frame Video Generator

Prompt-Guided Transitions

Describe what happens in between: a slow camera push, a spin, a fold, a morph. The AI follows your prompt while keeping lighting and subjects consistent between the two frames.

Native Audio on Every Clip

Every start and end frame model generates sound together with the video, so a transition comes with matching ambience and effects instead of silence.

Start Free, Pay Per Clip

Every new account gets 15 free credits, no card needed. After that, the exact cost is shown on the Create button, and credits are only charged when a video is delivered.

How to Make a First and Last Frame Video in 3 Steps

  1. 01

    Upload Start & End Frames

Put your first frame in the Start slot and your last frame in the End slot. Matching framing gives the smoothest blend.

  2. 02

    Describe the Transition

Write what happens between the two frames: the motion, the camera move and the mood. Then pick a model and length.

  3. 03

    Generate and Download

Click Create and the AI fills in every frame between your start frame and end frame. Download the MP4 when it's ready.

Start & End Frame Video FAQ

It is an AI video mode where you upload two images: a first frame and a last frame. The model generates a short clip that opens on the first image and ends on the second, filling in all the motion between them. It is also called first and last frame to video or keyframe video.

Regular image to video only fixes the opening frame, so the model decides how the clip ends. With start and end frames you control both ends, which is what you want for before and after reveals, transitions and product shots.

Seven models on this page take both frames: Seedance 2.0 Mini, Veo 3.1 Lite, Gemini Omni Flash, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5. Grok Imagine does not support a fixed end frame, so it is not offered here.

Upload JPG, PNG or WebP files up to 30 MB each. Two images with the same aspect ratio, a similar camera angle and the same subject give the smoothest motion. Large jumps in framing or subject still work, but the model has to invent more in between, so describe the change clearly in your prompt.

Say what moves and how: the subject's action, the camera move and the pace. For example: "The camera slowly pushes in as the empty room fills with furniture, warm evening light." Mention anything that must not change, like a face or a logo.

It depends on the model. All four Seedance models go up to 15 seconds, Kling 3.0 goes up to 12 seconds, Gemini Omni Flash offers 4 to 10 seconds, and Veo 3.1 Lite offers 4, 6 or 8 seconds.

Signing up is free and gives you 15 credits, enough for one 4-second 480p Seedance 2.0 Mini clip, the cheapest start and end frame run. Credit packs start at $6.90 for 180 credits, and no subscription is required.

Yes. Videos you generate can be used in ads, social posts and client work. Make sure you own or have the rights to the two images you upload.
